Terry is one of those artists one must stop and listen to once he is singing. His voice is so powerful and unique and so interesting to listen to. The Delta state born delivers the Apala sound even better than most Yoruba Apala singers.
Terry Apala has that signature voice for Apala music, his voice is the best thing to have happened to Apala Music. Haruna Ishola, Babatunde Olatunji and Ayinra Omiwura are great Apala legends but Terry is special.
Terry Apala is one of the most vocally blessed Nigerian singers and he knows how to make use of his craft to win the hearts of fans and lovers of his Afrobeat Apala style. The Apala king started as early as 12 and has since been breaking new grounds after his debut song ‘Champagne Shower’
Terry Apala was nominated for MTV base artiste to be watched amongst other nominations. Terry has also won some globally recognized awards like City people Music special recognition award, City people Music award for best music cover, to mention but a few.
One thing Terry Apala is good at is freestyle and flipping songs bringing his apala rhythm to make a masterpiece. He did flipped the pop hit ‘Shape of you’ by Ed Sheeran and murdered it with catchy lyrics, infectious vocals. The cover was so popular and loved that it received several awards including the City People Music award for best music cover of the year in 2017.
