Every beginner in photography who wants to take photography as a business or a profession, have to study and understand the settings in cameras like the shutter speed, aperture, ISO and exposure. This article will throw a bit of light on 3 major things you must master about photography to enable you stand the contest in the photo industry.

Listed and explained below are factors any photography beginner must master to be able to deliver professional jobs.

1. Camera Stability
Not being stable with your camera can spoil your work as a photographer.
One of the thing anyone taking up photography needs to know first is how the camera is held. The camera is held in a way that keeps it still and stable. The correct way to hold the camera is with both hands, using one hand will make your image imbalanced which would be considered an amateur shot. Hold the body of your camera when shooting with your right hand and the lens with your left index and thumb for easy movement of the lens in case you want to adjust focus. Make sure the camera is held close to your body for better balance and support.

2. Know Your Settings
Talking of settings in photography, there are three things that should come to mind; ISO, shutter speed and aperture, they are the three components of a camera setting that determine your photo.

To get good pictures at all time you must know how aperture, shutter speed and ISO work and the relationship between them.

* Shutter speed
Be confident on trying out different settings on the shutter speed, it helps you know more and stay creative.

ISO
The ISO setting is important, and it is important to set it correctly at all times. The ISO determines the sensitivity of your camera to light which will also determine the quality of the photo.

* Aperture
Aperture can be described as the hole inside the lens through which light passes to form the image.
When the aperture is widened, there would certainly be more light allowed in and if narrowed there would be less light allowed.
The aperture determine how much of your scene will be in focus and it is an important setting in every camera.

* ISO+Shutter Speed+Aperture =Exposure
It will be unethical to talk about shutter speed, ISO and aperture without mentioning Exposure as the mother head or stem on which ISO, shutter speed and aperture grow.
Proper study and knowledge of the exposure triangle is an easy way to always remember how the above settings work and constant results from trying different settings will make you know why it is important to adjust other settings when you change ISO or other two respectively.

3. Use Simple Background
Simple approach has always been the best approach in digital photography.
When shooting, especially outdoor, you have to be very picky about what shows on the shot and what doesn’t. All objects or persons that could serve as a distraction to the photo should not be included in the photo, old buildings in the background or garbage on the floor/ground can destroy the outcome of your photo.
Then when shooting indoors or in a studio, plain or neutral backgrounds or simple patterns backgrounds are perfect.
