‘Olamide made Phyno popular‘ is disrespectful to Igbo indigenous rapper. –Ou Mackson

I think it’s high time we addresed the rumor making the rounds that Olamide made Phyno popular. That is an insult on Phyno by who ever cooked that lies.
I will share the little I know about the two friends and your general opinions are welcome in the comments.
For over 10 years, the Nigerian industry has been dominated by two indeginous rappers; Olamide and Phyno, two rap gods who had almost everything in common, including style and lyrics.
Therefore, it is disrespectful for anyone to say Olamide made Phyno; the Ezeke 1 of Igbo land popular because of their collaboration. Phyno and Olamide should be compared as equal friends, music executive or rap gods and not some sort of boss and boy comparison.
Phyno and Olamide where both popular before Ghost Mode; Olamide was the biggest Yoruba Rapper and Phyno was also the biggest Igbo indeginous rapper in the east with great influence as well as Olamide in the west.
Note, this content is not to compare Olamide and Phyno’s talent or talk down or any of them, it is rather to clearify the wrong information that is making the rounds that Olamide brought Phyno to limelight.
Nothing wey aboki no go see for gate! To start with, the said song “Ghost Mode” is Phyno’s song, so how? That aside.
Guys, In 2012, Phyno and Olamide made a legendary hit titled “Ghost Mode” Gbedu that disturbed every neighborhood at the time.
The song topped different charts and remained there for so long.
Phyno’s ‘Ghost Mode’ with Olamide no doubt remains one of the best Rap songs in the Music Industry. And that was when their friendship became popular. However, 9 years ago, long before ‘Ghost Mode’.
Chibuzor Nelson Azubuike popularly known by his stage name Phyno had hit songs like “Anam Achi Kwanu” with iLLBliss, “What are you waiting for” and ” Multiply” featuring M.I, Mr. Raw and Timaya who were the hottest Nigeriam artistes from the East.
For the records, Industry age wise Phyno is far more older than Olamide in the industry. Don’t even argue this Guy! Ezeke is an old man in the rap game.
Ezeke started his music career as a producer in 2003 while Olamide’s first ever debut single was “Eni Duro” in 2010. But no caps, ‘Eno Duro’ was a hit top to bottom!
Yes, Ghost Mode made Phyno more popular, especially in the west, the same way it made Olamide more popular in the East.
Phyno face show – Olamide shoe shine; they are our legends and we love them respectivelly, irrespective of any differences.
The dual are good friends. They have maintained the friendship and respect that came with “Ghost Mode” which has delivered over 50 hit song together.
